RNA interference (RNAi) is an extremely powerful tool for probing gene function. It derives its utility from the ability of small, double-stranded RNAs (small interfering RNAs, or siRNAs) specifically to silence genes containing sequences identical to those in the siRNAs. High throughput screens using siRNA libraries make it possible to systematically interrogate whole genomes for proteins involved in cellular processes for which assays have been developed.
Dharmacon SMARTpool siRNA libraries targeting the whole human genome (21,176 genes) and the mouse druggable genome (6,363 genes) are available for screening at ICCB-L/NSRB.
Please submit applications for siRNA screening using our online RNAi screen application. If you have questions about RNAi resources and screening at ICCB-L, please send an email to screen_apply"AT"hms.harvard.edu.
