This library was plated and added to the ICCB-L collection in November 2007. Production of this fungal extract library was funded by a Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) grant to Dr. Jon Clardy. The library contains partially purified extracts from endophytic fungi (fungi that live in higher plants) that grow in Costa Rica. Crude extracts from the fungi were obtained and further fractionated to eliminate nuisance compounds, especially those of high molecular weight or high polarity.
Screening positives that have been confirmed by follow-up experiments on cherry picked samples can be further fractionated via a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Jon Clardy (Harvard Medical School). Please contact Caroline Shamu (caroline_shamu"AT"hms.harvard.edu) to arrange for purification of "hit" compounds from extract samples."
