This library was plated and added to the collection in March 2006. Production of this library was funded by an International Cooperative Biodiversity Groups (ICBG) grant from the NIH to Dr. Jon Clardy  (Harvard Medical School) and to Dr. David Sherman (University of Michigan).  The library contains partially purified extracts. Crude extracts from marine bacteria, actinomycetes and cyanobacteria were fractionated to eliminate nuisance compounds, especially those of high molecular weight or high polarity.

Screening positives that have been confirmed by follow-up experiments on cherry picked samples can be further fractionated via a collaboration with the lab of Dr. Jon Clardy. Please contact Caroline Shamu (caroline_shamu@hms.harvard.edu) to arrange for purification of "hit" compounds from extract samples.
